Recently, at the Buriticá gold mine project in Colombia — a world-class ultra-high-grade underground gold mine owned by Zijin Mining — a fleet of underground loaders and underground mining trucks independently developed and manufactured by Fambition has been operating efficiently and reliably throughout the entire underground mining and ore hauling process. With outstanding performance and proven reliability, Fambition equipment is supporting the productivity improvement, technical upgrading, and capacity expansion of this key overseas mining project, demonstrating the hard power and international competitiveness of China’s high-end underground mining equipment industry.

The Buriticá gold mine is Colombia’s first large-scale modern underground gold mine, with estimated gold resources of 385 tonnes and an average ore grade ranging from 6.95–9.3 g/t, significantly higher than the global mining industry average. The deposit is also rich in associated precious metals such as silver and copper, making it a truly world-class ultra-high-grade mine.

The project is controlled by Zijin Mining and operated through Continental Gold. Hongda Lianshao Colombia SAS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lianshao Construction Engineering, serves as the core Chinese underground mining contractor, fully responsible for mine development, tunneling, ore extraction, hauling, and backfilling operations.

Mining conditions at Buriticá are extremely challenging. The orebody consists of steeply dipping ultra-thin veins with thicknesses of less than 0.8 meters. The mine adopts a ramp-and-adit access system together with sublevel open stoping and subsequent backfill mining methods, placing exceptionally demanding requirements on underground equipment in terms of compact dimensions, power performance, maneuverability, durability, and adaptability.

The mine currently processes 4,000 tonnes of ore per day. In 2025, it produced 8.8 tonnes of gold, 25.17 tonnes of silver, and 1,126 tonnes of copper. The project is now actively advancing a technical upgrade and expansion plan aimed at increasing daily ore processing capacity to 5,000 tonnes and annual processing capacity to 1.65 million tonnes. This expansion requires highly efficient, reliable, and heavy-duty underground haulage equipment to ensure stable production growth.

Leveraging its deep expertise in underground mining equipment R&D and manufacturing, along with its customized solutions for complex underground operating conditions, Fambition has become a core equipment supplier for the project’s mining and ore haulage operations. Since the project commenced, Hongda Lianshao Colombia SAS has deployed 12 units of Fambition underground loaders and mining trucks in batches, fully undertaking underground ore transportation and hauling tasks.

After long-term, high-intensity field validation, Fambition’s FL series underground loaders and FT series underground trucks have delivered outstanding performance under the complex ultra-thin vein mining conditions at Buriticá. The equipment has effectively ensured continuous underground operational efficiency while significantly reducing mine operating costs, providing a solid equipment foundation for stable and high-output production.
