The 28th China (Tianjin) International Mining Conference was held from September 10 to 12, 2026, at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center under the theme “Win-Win Cooperation, Green and Intelligent Development.” The event brought together companies from across the mining value chain, industry experts and professional visitors from around the world, providing a platform for technical exchange, technology showcases and business collaboration. Key discussions focused on intelligent mining, low-carbon development and the technologies shaping the future of the industry.

As a developer of underground mining equipment, FAMBITION showcased its FL07B battery-electric LHD at the conference, highlighting its latest developments and practical experience in supporting greener and smarter underground mining.


Designed for the challenging conditions of metal and non-metal underground mines, the FL07B is built to operate in narrow headings, tight turns and confined working areas. Its compact design allows it to work in headings as small as 3.5 m × 3.5 m, while its maneuverability and small turning radius help operators handle loading and hauling tasks efficiently in complex underground environments.

Powered by a fully battery-electric drivetrain, the FL07B produces zero tailpipe emissions and significantly lower operating noise, helping create a cleaner and more comfortable working environment underground. With a 7-tonne rated payload and dedicated calibration for demanding underground applications, the machine is designed for frequent, high-load and continuous-duty operations. Its robust construction and adaptability to harsh working conditions also support reliable long-term performance and more efficient equipment operation.

Beyond machine performance, battery-electric equipment is increasingly being evaluated through the lens of total cost of ownership (TCO). During the conference, Zhang Yi, Director of the New Energy Research Institute at FAMBITION’s Underground Mining Equipment Research Institute, delivered a presentation titled “TCO of Electrifying Underground Mining Equipment for Metal and Non-Metal Mines.”

The presentation examined the business case for electrification from a full-lifecycle perspective, covering key factors such as long-term operating costs, energy consumption, maintenance requirements and carbon reduction potential. It highlighted how battery-electric underground equipment can create value beyond emissions reduction—helping mining operations manage energy and maintenance costs while supporting their broader decarbonization goals.


FAMBITION will continue to explore the practical application of electrification and intelligent technologies in underground mining, working with customers and industry partners to support safer, more efficient and more sustainable mining operations.
