Recently, the FHD2715 demonstrated its capabilities at a bauxite mine in southwestern Türkiye. Operating in high-strength rock, confined headings and humid underground conditions, the machine delivered strong drilling efficiency and reliable performance throughout the development cycle.

The customer operates a bauxite mine in southwestern Türkiye, where underground conditions are characterized by high humidity and demanding rock conditions.
The development heading measures approximately 3.5 m × 3.5 m, while the rock hardness reaches 7–8 on the Mohs scale, placing it within the medium-hard to hard-rock range.
In these conditions, conventional compact development equipment can face challenges such as reduced penetration rates, higher maintenance requirements and limited maneuverability in confined spaces.
After the FHD2715 was deployed on site, the drilling pattern was designed with 45 mm blast holes, an average hole depth of 3.2 m, and approximately 50–55 holes per development round. During actual operation, the FHD2715 achieved an average drilling time of approximately 1 minute and 30 seconds per hole, significantly improving drilling efficiency and helping shorten the overall development cycle. Despite the humid underground environment, the machine maintained stable and reliable operation. The performance of its key systems and components demonstrated the FHD2715’s ability to adapt to challenging underground conditions and earned positive feedback from the customer’s on-site team.

Its compact and maneuverable structure allows it to operate in headings as small as 2.7 m × 2.7 m, while supporting a maximum drilling coverage area of up to 34 m².
This makes the machine suitable for a wide range of applications, including mine development headings, production preparation drifts and smaller underground tunnels.
At the customer’s 3.5 m × 3.5 m heading, the FHD2715 demonstrated excellent maneuverability and positioning capability. The machine was able to complete drilling operations efficiently within the confined workspace while reducing the need for frequent repositioning, helping minimize auxiliary time and improve overall development efficiency.

The FHD2715 is equipped with a Montabert HC95 21 kW high-power rock drill, delivering the impact energy and penetration performance required for demanding hard-rock applications. In rock conditions rated at 7–8 in hardness, the system provides strong rock-breaking capability and stable drilling performance.
Combined with an optimized hydraulic system, the FHD2715 delivers consistent power output throughout the drilling process, helping improve penetration rates and shorten development cycles.
Intelligent Control for Stable and Reliable Operation
The machine features a feed beam self-balancing positioning system that supports faster and more accurate boom positioning. This helps improve drilling accuracy, ensuring greater consistency in hole angle and depth while providing a solid foundation for subsequent blasting operations. The FHD2715 is also equipped with an anti-jamming drilling control function. The system monitors drilling load during operation and automatically adjusts drilling parameters in response to changing rock conditions. By reducing the risk of drill steel jamming and breakage, the system helps minimize consumable wear, reduce unplanned downtime and improve overall machine availability.
